Communicating with your audience – whether it’s a customer, alumni, faculty, or donor – can take many forms. Like most institutions of higher learning, New Hampshire’s Keene State College produces a quarterly magazine, KSC Today. It strives to keep the campus and students (current and alumni) up-to-date on what’s going on with the college, and with alumni across the globe.

It’s important to occasionally evaluate a publication and consider if it’s time to refresh the look and feel of it, for a new vibe and a new generation. And that’s what the team at Boston Impressions was tasked to do.

Given a tight 6-week deadline, and with the help of KSC staff, BI curated the content, developed a clean, forward-facing design that captured the dynamic and modern KSC experience.

Just as this new print product was ready to roll off the presses… the new world of COVID-19 adjustments began.

Our first new-format issue of the magazine became an uber-important issue, more so than we would ever have imagined. The quick turnaround on this project was initially such so that it would be complete for an event in Florida. But like many things, that event became a casualty of the pandemic.

In the wake of not only event cancellations, but also the remaining school year, KSC Today (print and digital) turned out to be a pivotal communication, and one of the last ones to hit the mailboxes of alumni and donors alike.
