A New Chapter at 100 Factory Street

We’ve been at this for a while.
Long enough to remember when sending a file meant actually sending a file. Long enough to have designed things that went to press before anyone asked what the social media strategy was. And definitely long enough to know that standing still is a pretty lousy business plan.
So while Boston Impressions is still very much Boston Impressions, something is happening at 100 Factory Street.
We’re evolving.
Not in the “new logo, new us” kind of way. More in the we’ve added some really smart people, expanded what we can do, and gotten even better at connecting all the pieces kind of way.
The agency has changed because the work has changed.
Our clients don’t come to us looking for one thing anymore.
A website turns into a campaign. A campaign needs social content. Social needs video. The video needs a landing page. Someone suddenly needs a tradeshow booth, a label, an email campaign, a podcast, a presentation and 500 decals by Thursday.
And somewhere in the middle of that conversation, someone usually asks: “Can you guys do that?”
Increasingly, the answer is yes.
That has always been part of our DNA. We like being the agency that can think strategically in the morning, obsess over a headline at lunch and figure out how the heck to actually produce the thing by the end of the day.
Bigger capabilities. Still boutique.
There is a temptation in this business to equate growth with becoming bigger. That’s never really interested us.
We’d rather become better.
Better people around the table. Better technology. Better creative tools. Better ways to help clients move quickly without having to manage six different vendors.
Strategy. Branding. Design. Web. Social. Content. Video. Print. Packaging. Signage. Events. Podcasting. Digital campaigns.
And probably something somebody is going to ask us about next Tuesday that isn’t on that list yet. That’s the fun part.
The studio still matters.
In a world where almost everything can happen on a screen, we still believe there is something powerful about getting people in a room together. Talking. Sketching. Arguing nicely. Throwing bad ideas on the table until somebody finds the good one hiding underneath.
Our Millyard studio has become much more than an office. It’s a place to meet clients, record conversations, build ideas, shoot content and occasionally stare at something on a wall for twenty minutes wondering why it doesn’t quite work yet.
Creative people will understand that last one.
So, what’s next?
More of what got us here. Curiosity. Good people. Clients we actually enjoy working with. Ideas that make us a little uncomfortable. And a willingness to say yes first, then figure out how to make it great.
After all these years, Boston Impressions isn’t trying to reinvent itself. We’re just getting better at being exactly who we’ve always been.
Welcome to the next chapter at 100 Factory Street. We have a feeling it’s going to be a good one.
